ThingsCon Amsterdam is the meeting place for the international Internet of Things (IoT) designers and makers, this year the conference will take place on November 30th and December 1st at Volkshotel in Amsterdam.

For the fourth time, approximately 350 visitors will discuss the latest innovations in technology and methods paying particular attention to human-centric and responsible IoT. There will be discussions about everything from IoT gadgets to everyday products that become connected by default. The ethics in IoT is becoming increasingly important, especially now that the connected world has become a standard and the number of IoT products and services grow rapidly.
At ThingsCon Amsterdam 2017 there will be an international line-up of top-notch speakers including; Scott Jenson from Google’s Physical Web Program, Jasmina Tešanović die samen met Bruce Sterling Casa Jasmina runt in Turijn, IoT ondernemer Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino (Designswarm) en onderzoeker en ontwerper Tobias Revell, Ugo Vallauri (The Restart Project), Iohanna Nicenboim (TU Delft), Nazli Cila (Digital Life Centre) en Bas van Abel (Fairphone).
In addition to the line-up of speakers, there are going to be more than 25 interactive sessions to choose from. There will be practical workshops and discussion meetings, with topics such as Things as Citizens, Ethics for Designers, The City and the Smart Citizen, Design for AI in Things, Understanding Circular Design, Products as Agents, The Battle of IoT Cards, Manufacturing IoT, Understanding GDPR for Things, Democracy by Design, and much more. The of course the popular “Connectiklaas” workshop will take place this year again, where participants build a Sinterklaas-surprise with IoT technology.
